Water jacket is an important part of engine cooling system, the well designed water jacket can lead a good cooling liquid distribution and a uniform heat exchange. Usually the designer have to select the best one from several layouts, so it is very important to know the flowing field in water-jacket. An example of using CFD technique to determine the layout of water jacket and to optimize water-jacket in forward design of an engine was shown. |
